If you prefer to accept payments in person from your customers, you can use Square alongside Shopify to do so. Square offers a free card reader that can be shipped to you, which can be used to accept payments in person from customers.
If you choose to use Square to collect orders in person, you can later export these orders into a file and give it to viaGlamour for fulfillment. This makes it easy to manage both online and in-person orders in one place, and allows you to keep track of all of your orders regardless of where they were placed.
Note that while Square can be used alongside Shopify, it's not necessary to use Square if you're already using Shopify to accept customer orders online. Shopify provides all of the necessary tools to manage online orders and payments, so using Square is only necessary if you want to accept payments in person as well or have a legacy payments terminal at your business location (like a salon) that's using a Square card reader already to accept customer payments.
Fulfilling Square orders
You can sell any of viaGlamour's products in-person or online using Square. Customers orders will be collected into your Square account and fulfilled by viaGlamour once a week when you request fulfillment for all of your customer orders that you want to be shipped to customers from viaGlamour's cosmetics lab. If you prefer to sell in-person with inventory you pre-purchased from viaGlamour, you can order your products at wholesale prices.
Transfer products to Square
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create a new product on Square online using the SKU code provided by viaGlamour:
Log in to your Square account and click on the "Items" tab.
Click on the "Create Item" button to start creating a new product.
Fill in the product name, description, and pricing information for your new product. Make sure to provide accurate and detailed information so your customers know exactly what they're getting.
In the "SKU" field, copy and paste the SKU code provided by viaGlamour. This code is unique to each product and is very important, as it ensures that Square and viaGlamour can match up the correct product with the correct order. Please note that the SKU code cannot be changed or omitted.
If viaGlamour has provided you with free photos of the product and swatches, you can add them to the product listing by clicking on the "Add images" button and uploading the files. Once you've filled in all the necessary information, click on the "Save" button to create the new product.
And that's it! By following these steps, you should now have a new product listed on Square with the correct SKU code provided by viaGlamour. These items you created can be shipped by you, sold in-person, or shipped by viaGlamour if you import your list of orders back into viaGlamour's app.
Transfer orders from Square
To import orders into viaGlamour from Square, follow these steps:
Log in to your Square account and navigate to the Orders section.
Select the orders that you want to import into viaGlamour and export them as a .csv file.
Log in to your viaGlamour account and go to the Orders section.
Click on "Import Orders" and select the .csv file you just exported from Square.
Map the fields in the .csv file to the corresponding fields in viaGlamour. This includes selecting the correct fields for the items SKUs and the shipping address.
Once you have mapped the fields correctly, click on "Import" to begin the import process.
Your orders will be imported into viaGlamour and will be fulfilled within the next few days.
You will receive tracking numbers for small orders within an hour, while for larger orders, tracking numbers will be made available within a week.
Remember that the SKU code provided by viaGlamour at the bottom of all create product pages within the viaGlamour app is very important and cannot be changed or omitted. Make sure that the SKU code in your Square orders matches the SKU code in viaGlamour to ensure that the correct products are fulfilled. Transfer tracking numbers from viaGlamour
here's a guide on how to copy-paste tracking numbers from viaGlamour and fulfill orders on Square:
After importing orders into viaGlamour, wait a few days until the tracking numbers are available in the app or via email.
Log in to your Square account and navigate to the Orders tab.
Find the order that you want to fulfill and click on it to open the order details.
Look for the shipping information section and click on the "Mark as Shipped" button.
A pop-up window will appear. In this window, you'll see a field for the tracking number.
Go back to viaGlamour and copy the tracking number for the order you want to fulfill.
Return to Square and paste the tracking number into the tracking number field.
If the tracking number is recognized by Square, you'll see a confirmation message that the order has been marked as shipped.
Repeat steps 4-8 for any other orders you want to fulfill with tracking numbers.
That's it! Your customers will receive an email notification with the tracking number and a link to track their shipment.
